Tool-Supported Risk Management

Integrate risk management seamlessly into your workflows

Tool support for risk management is now available to all organizations, with the benefits of increased efficiency, acceptance, and transparency of their risk management activities. Unlike office applications, specialized risk management tools can be tightly integrated with modern collaboration, project management, and systems engineering tool platforms.

The training course demonstrates the power of tool-supported risk management and provides hands-on practice. While applicable to any modern tool, it uses for illustration the widely used Atlassian Jira with the app easeRisk from ease solutions.

The training course focuses on project risk management as a prototypical application scenario. The content can easily be transferred to other types of engineering and quality risk management.

Participants will learn:

  • What are the building blocks of modern tool support for risk management
  • What tool solutions are available, and what are their characteristics
  • How can you best take advantage of the tool solutions
  • How can you set up and use a tool-supported risk management solution
  • How can you launch tool-supported risk management in your project or organization?

Participants shall have a basic understanding of risk management, such as from systems engineering, software engineering, or project management activities. Prior knowledge or experience with risk management tools is not required.

The course is designed as a rich and highly effective learning experience that includes synchronous (classroom) and asynchronous parts (self-study, flipped classroom). At its core is an instructor-led live online session. Participants prepare for the live session through guided self-study using the flipped classroom model. After the live session they are given the opportunity to set up and try out a requirements tool in a self-paced practical exercise that follows a step-by-step scenario. Participants can gain access to a discussion forum where they can explore the topic in more depth and interact with other practitioners and experts.

The instructors are subject matter experts with many years of practical experience. They also know how to facilitate highly interactive web-based learning.
