Atlassian Jira is one of the most widely used platforms in systems & software engineering, with a very low entry threshold. It is an ideal candidate to demonstrate the high potential of advanced, tool-based requirements management.

The training course provides a blueprint and practical guidance for tool-based requirements management using Jira. It gives concrete examples and presents the various facets of modern requirements tool support. The solution can be implemented directly on an existing Jira installation or transferred to another modern tool platform.

Participants will learn:

• What support for requirements management does Atlassian Jira provide?
• How can you design and select your Jira requirements solution?
• How can you set up and configure your Jira requirements solution?
• How can you roll out and use tool-based requirements management with Jira?

Participants shall have a basic understanding of requirements management or a related field (e.g., business analysis, product management, systems engineering). Prior knowledge or experience with Jira or another requirements tool is not required. The presented showcase uses Atlassian Jira together with the app easeRequirements from ease solutions.

The course is designed as a rich and highly effective learning experience that includes synchronous (classroom) and asynchronous parts (self-study, flipped classroom). At its core is an instructor-led live online session. Participants prepare for the live session through guided self-study using the flipped classroom model. After the live session they are given the opportunity to set up and try out a requirements tool in a self-paced practical exercise that follows a step-by-step scenario. Participants can gain access to a discussion forum where they can explore the topic in more depth and interact with other practitioners and experts.
